ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department says a woman was crossing a parking lot in a wheelchair Tuesday when she was struck and killed. Officers responded to Love’s Gas Station on Sixth Street just before 1 a.m. for the crash.
They say a blue Dodge truck was traveling north on Sixth Street and turned left into the parking lot. At that time the woman, who was traveling northbound, was hit by the truck and fell out of her wheelchair. The woman was taken to hospital where she later died.
APD says there were no signs of intoxication or speeding.
