BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – Outdoor activities will soon be growing in Bernalillo County thanks to a $10,000 grant.
Bernalillo County’s new initiative “Beauty of BernCo,” People are focused on exploring the outdoors. “So through photography we really want to showcase all these beautiful areas and unique special moments, all within nature, within all counties. That you can really go out and explore on your own,” said Tami Adolphe, Bernalillo County Marketing Specialist.
Made possible by a $10,000 grant from the program New Mexico Outdoor Recreation Divco. Eligible expenses include items such as sponsorships, printing brochures, maps, guidebooks, and digital and print advertising. County officials believe it will also be good for people’s mental health, as it will take them on trail trips across the county.
The county believes that some of the best marketing can be done on platforms like Instagram, showcasing the area in pictures. “One of the main reasons is that social media, especially Instagram, has a lot of power. It is very accessible; So this is a way in which we can share these beautiful moments in nature with the public,” said Adolph
According to the New Mexico Outdoor Recreation Division website, there were 41 selected grants, including Bernalillo County.
