NM Governor Appoints New Magistrate to Serve Doña Ana County

El Paso, Texas (KTSM) — New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham has appointed a new magistrate judge to serve in Doña Ana County, her office announced Friday, March 29.

Janet Mondragon has been appointed to serve on the Doña Ana County Magistrate Court, the governor announced.

Mondragon’s appointment fills the seat left vacant when Judge Rebecca Duffin was appointed as a Third Judicial District Court judge.

Mondragon is a graduate of New Mexico State University and the University of New Mexico School of Law.

Most recently, Mondragon provided legal representation in child support matters for the state of New Mexico. Previously, he was a staff attorney at the Border Immigration Law and Justice Center and served as a senior trial attorney for 13m Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

Mondragon’s appointment will begin April 27.
